Over the weekend, we did a little Easter egg hunt trial run with Peanut. I’d picked up ten plastic eggs at the grocery store a month or so ago when they were a dollar, and then stored them away for the big day. But since my mom was hanging out with us, and Peanut’s friend was over, I thought it would be fun to do something a little bit special.

My mom and I took turns taking the boys into the other room while the other hid the eggs. The first time we did it and we told Peanut to find all the eggs, he just stood in the middle of the room, barely glancing around, very confused. But after one or two times, he finally got the hang of it and learned to really search the room and quickly find the eggs. We made it harder and harder each time, and he soon learned to look way down low, behind the furniture, under the couch pillows, and even way up in between the blind slats. It was so. much. fun.

Every day since Saturday, he has asked me to hide the eggs, and then he tears off to his room to cover his eyes and count to ten. Next Sunday, when we have an actual Easter egg hunt with more than 10 eggs, can’t come fast enough. Having kids old enough to really enjoy holidays is seriously awesome.

Although this little dude last Easter was pretty fun too…

I love your skirt. And I can remember doing Easter egg hunts until we were technically too old for them. Glad Peanut's enjoying it!

So cute! I really miss having young cousins in the fam so we can hide eggs; a bunch of twenty-somethings and a teenager just doesn't cut it anymore 🙁 haha

This is a random question–though it is probably not the first random question you've gotten, nor will it be the last. I have (and love) that same h&m skirt but I can't wear it without a slip…but the slip bunches up because it's not meant for such a fitted skirt. I'm just curious if you have that same problem and, if so, what do you do about it?
